PZdynamics: your partner in finding innovative solutions for current challenges in the marine industry

Designing for reliability, efficiency, low emission, noise and vibration levels.

PZdynamics Ltd is a marine engineering consultancy company based in the historic shipbuilding city of Glasgow. With offices at only 100 yards from where the engines were built for the world’s first cross Atlantic steam ships, the company embodies the same pioneering progressive spirit from back in these days, developing solutions for the revolutionary changes the maritime industry currently is going through.

Many of these changes are driven by the need to minimize costs of operation and reduce impact of shipping on the environment driving towards a zero emission economy. Efficiency of operation, machinery and structural reliability are essential ingredients to achieve this goal. Furthermore, the need for reducing emissions has resulted in new propulsion concepts being developed and the introduction of new fuel types. With autonomous shipping just round the corner and more complicated machinery systems being deployed remotely under increasingly dynamically hostile environments (renewable energy, dredging) the industry requires more than ever an out of the box approach to structural and machinery system design, maintenance and remote monitoring of machinery and structural health.

Through on our simulation modelling capabilities and noise, vibration, power and strain measurement capabilities we help the industry:

We distinguish ourselves in the consultancy market not just through our access to both measurement capabilities and  simulation modelling capabilities. We are also unique in developing new ways of simulating machinery and structural dynamic behavior and develop new structural and machinery health monitoring solutions where the standard approaches don't work anymore. This ability is an essential ingredient to make real progress in developing  of new design solutions/concepts which we need to tackle the challenges the industry is facing.
